Immersive Training at Sea: Cruise Planners & Azamara Host Immersive European Seminar at Sea

Cruise Planners travel advisors recently had the opportunity to combine learning with an unforgettable travel experience during an exclusive Seminar at Sea onboard the beautiful Azamara Onward. The 8-night Italy Intensive Voyage set sail from Nice, France on July 7, 2025, and concluded in Rome, Italy on July 15, 2025, offering a stunning backdrop for a highly interactive and enriching training experience.

Hosted by Lori Nojaim, Key Account Manager at Azamara, and Cruise Planners Senior Sales Manager Alisa Farber, the Seminar at Sea brought together over 40 attendees. This invitation-only experience welcomed both seasoned Azamara sellers and Cruise Planners advisors who were interested in learning more about the brand—giving them firsthand insight into the premium cruise line’s unique value proposition.

“The Azamara Seminar at Sea for Cruise Planners was an exclusive, invitation-only experience extended to advisors who are actively selling Azamara, as well as those who have never sold the brand but would greatly benefit from firsthand experience,” said Alisa Farber. “Our goal was to get “new-to-Azamara" advisors onboard to experience the product in person and truly understand the value it offers, for both individual clients and groups seeking immersive destination experiences, longer port stays, inclusive amenities, and exceptional onboard service and cuisine.”

The core of the event was a four-hour, open-format training session focused on strategies for growing business through Cruise Planners' exclusive tools and platforms. Topics included using social media to boost visibility, creative marketing strategies, and best practices for selling Azamara voyages, including how to host successful cruise nights and group events.

Advisors were also challenged to set concrete business goals during the sailing—and follow through on them after returning home. Beyond the workshops, were hosted dinners and one-on-one conversations, offering mentorship and guidance throughout the voyage.

To further boost engagement, a lively social media contest encouraged advisors to participate across different categories—rewarding creativity and inspiring them to expand their digital presence. An additional incentive to build a successful marketing plan helped advisors turn ideas into actionable steps for future success.

“This Seminar at Sea was designed to equip our advisors with tools to help grow their Azamara business, while also emphasizing the importance of setting and tracking business goals,” added Farber. “In addition, we hosted exclusive social media and marketing contests to encourage our advisors to step outside their comfort zones by learning how to effectively capture and share content to elevate their social presence and plan successful cruise nights and group events.”
