CRUISE PLANNERS HONORED WITH SEVEN TRAVEL WEEKLY MAGELLAN AWARDS

Awards recognize original marketing campaigns and innovative travel agent training tools

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla.Cruise Planners/American Express, the nation’s largest home-based travel agent franchise network in the cruise industry, once again raises the bar within the travel agent business by winning a total of seven coveted Magellan Awards from Travel Weekly. The awards honor the best in the travel industry and are bestowed upon travel organizations that represent the highest standards of excellence in hospitality.

“When developing and creating our training, marketing and advertising campaigns, we only have one goal in mind and that is to produce quality and impactful tools that our travel advisors can use to increase the level of service to their clients and their overall sales,” said Vicky Garcia, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Cruise Planners/ American Express. “Never before have we been awarded with seven Magellan Awards ranging in categories from direct mail to training programs and travel insurance initiatives.  This is an amazing accomplishment for everyone here at Home Office.”

Cruise Planners was honored with three Gold Magellan Awards in the advertising and marketing categories recognizing the company’s family travel, bucket list and World’s Largest Cruise Event campaigns.  In addition, Cruise Planners received a Gold Magellan Award in the direct mail category for the summer issue of The Cruise Planner, the company’s official magazine.  In the training program category, Cruise Planners received one Gold Magellan Award recognizing its “Business in a Box” training curriculum and another in the insurance category for its custom travel insurance program.  The travel franchise company also won a Silver Magellan Award for its travel gift registry in the advertising and marketing category.
